Boston Globe Banner

In September 2002 I got a phone call from a woman who was an editor of mine when I wrote for a children's magazine. She told me she was now the editor for the Science and Health section of the Boston Globe newspaper, and would I be interested in writing some astronomy articles for her?

Duh.

So we got right to work and mapped out a few. I will link to them as they are available. It appears that the articles are free for a short amount of time, and then go into the archives which can be displayed only if you are a paid subscriber to the Globe.

  • X Doesn't Mark the Spot (November 5, 2002) about why there is no rogue planet on its way to kill everyone on Earth in May 2003. Available for paid Globe subscribers.

  • Shedding Light on Dark Matter (December 31, 2002), about how the Chandra X-ray telescope has found very compelling evidence for the existance of dark matter.
