Bad Astronomy Newsletter #19 Contents:
1) Upcoming talks and appearances This newsletter is going to be brief; I have spent the last three weeks of my life preparing and participating in a teacher workshop we held here at Sonoma State University, so I have been lagging on my website stuff. However, I do want folks to know about what I'm doing. Tonight, Monday July 22, at 11:00 p.m. Pacific time, I will once again be on Coast to Coast A.M., aka Art Bell's show. I think the host will be George Noory again (I was on the show in June). We will be talking about Planet X, which doesn't exist, and how this fiction won't be destroying the Earth next May. I have done a bit of reading about this, so this time I'll be more specific. I have a page about Planet X (which is basically a link to another site). I'll be adding more to it soon. On Thursday of this week I'll be on TechTV again. Friday I'll be doing a local TV show in the morning and radio in the afternoon, then Saturday there'll be a book signing at a local Barnes and Noble. I just did a radio interview this morning that will be broadcast on NPR next week; I'll send out a note when I find out exactly when. Phew! You can get all the details, as usual, on my calendar.
2) Subscribe/Unsubscribe Information If, for some weird reason, you want to unsubscribe to this newsletter, just send email to badastronomy-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com with no body text. Make sure you send it from the address to which the newsletter is sent! Alternatively, you can unsubscribe from the Yahoo!Groups website. Go to http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/groups/groups-32.html for more info. Remember, the newsletters will be archived on the website at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/badastronomy so even if you unsubscribe you can still read them there. I suggest staying subscribed so you get them as soon as I send them. Also, I do not sell your email addresses and neither does Yahoo! Take a gander at the Yahoo!Groups privacy message if it makes you feel better: http://privacy.yahoo.com/privacy/us/ Note that the email addresses are visible to me, but I have no prurient use for them. If that makes you nervous for whatever reason, feel free to unsubscribe and simply read the archived newsletters at the website listed above.
